I’ve just installed the new Experience and so far it looks great.
The avatars are going to be fun for everyone just like the Miis were for the Wii.
Unfortunately when retrieving some online content I’ve been getting an error:
Can’t retrieve information from Xbox LIVE.
Please try again later.
Status code: 8000ffff
Other than that I think it’s going to be a great new Experience.
The things I’m looking forward to is the Netflix integration and possibly some new video codecs for watching downloaded content from other computers.

and by the way, are you using an arcade version?
