Well, maybe not fired. But he is leaving his full time job at Microsoft in July 2008. His new full time job will be for the William & Melinda Gates foundation. He will be focusing on education and health issues in the world today.
Cooincidently, Microsoft’s stock price started going up after hours during this announcement.
Bill had a large list of those fellows at Microsoft that will have to fill his shoes.
Steve Balmer (CEO of Microsoft) had some kind words about the loss of his best co-workder and friend of 26 years.
