How to open Xbox 360 NAT via port forwarding

Xbox 360 4 Comments »

First, set a static IP address on your Xbox 360.

Then add the following 3 rules to your router, under the port forwarding options, pointing to the IP address of your Xbox 360:

Port: 88, Protocol: both (tcp/udp)

Port: 2074, Protocol: both (tcp/udp)

Port: 3074, Protocol: both (tcp/udp)

Save those changes, then run the network tests on the Xbox. You should get an “Open” status under that last test, NAT.

Doing this should clear up and “Open Nat” error messages that come up during Halo 3 matchmaking and when joining your friends parties.

Halo 3 Legendary Edition

Last night at 11:55pm at the Game Stop in Fernandina Beach, FL is picked up my reserved copy of Halo 3 Legendary Edition.

I also got a copy of the Halo 3 Official Guide Book which includes details on the campaign mode and multi-player maps and tips.

One cool tiny feature is the global map of online players. It was interesting to watch the United States light up from East to West as players were getting home with their new copies of the software. At one point there were over 100,000 players online (around 2am est).

There’s lots of reviews and details of the game online already, this is not one of them, I just wanted to let everyone know I was playing :)
